I received an email fron the woman who invented the Tug A Jug:
Hi,
You don't know me but I am the woman (a teacher) who invented the Tug A Jug and I found your blog when I was searching for feedback about my toy. I just read your blog and learned that you decided to place your dogs with another family. I understand how difficult a choice that must have been and the guilt factor. However, we all make choices that we think are best and I'm sure the dogs will adjust and thrive in their new environment. One day, when you are ready, you can try again with maybe one dog and a smaller, calmer breed. Keeping Mope and Scooter (I think those are the names) was causing you a lot of stress which was seemingly leading to health problems. It wasn't the right situation for any of you. I can see from the pictures and reading your blog that you did try really hard and gave them so much. It just wasn't the right match of breed and human and maybe two big dogs was just too much. This happens to many people.
I'm glad you have the promise and comfort of Jesus, because he is with you and will give you the strength to get through this. Rest in him.
Sincerely,
Susan
What a nice email. It really lifted my spirits and brightened my day. I sent an email back to her:
Hi Susan,
Thank you for your wonderful email and for reading my blog. And thank you, thank you, thank you for inventing the Tug A Jug! Skooter and Moped had hours of endless entertainment with the Tug A Jug. They are aggressive chewers and it is a toy that can survive their play. Skooter loved it most of all. He is an intelligent dog and got it figured out fairly quickly, but that didn't take away the joy he had with it every time it was filled. They even enjoyed it when it was empty! I made sure that his Tug A Jug went with him and it makes me happy to know that he'll have fun with it again with his forever family. The Tug A Jug is a great project toy for Skooter and Moped and I wouldn't want Skooter to be without it. It is a great invention and Skooter and Moped would agree with that! Thank you for bringing back such fun memories for me. I am actually smiling and feel good inside. You should be proud of your invention, it's brought a lot of happiness to my family.
Thank you for your reassurance that I've done the right thing. You will never know how much it means to me that you have said that.
I am comforted by my faith, though sometimes I forget where I can find such comfort. Thankfully I have wonderful friends who pray for me and with me about my situation with the dogs and remind me where the truth can be found. They know how difficult a decision this has been for me.
Again, Skooter thanks you for inventing the Tug A Jug and I thank you for the fond memories it has brought back.
Blessings,
Samantha
