I did some training with Harley earlier this evening. We did mat work and he did just fine. He's chewing on his bison bone right now. He was out earlier and the dogs out back were out too. He and Zeus chased each other along the fence. The older lady that lives over there doesn't like it if the dogs bark and brings them in right away and poor Harley doesn't have anyone to play with. Her daughter lets them work things out and and play. It's been raining all day today so we haven't gone out to walk (except when we went on our morning ride). He'll have an opportunity to play his little heart out tomorrow at puppy class. I wonder if we'll learn anything new tomorrow or just continue working on the things we've already learned. Tomorrow will be our 4th class. I'll have to see what we'll be doing after this class. The other folks should be moving on too so maybe there will be a basic obedience class after this.
Harley is wanting to go outside a lot now and it's not so he can do his business. It's so he can hang out by the fence and dig. David just let him out and that's exactly what Harley did. I'm going to have to figure out how to keep him from digging. And instead of coming in he ran under the deck so I had to lure him in with a few pieces of kibble in the measuring cup. He hears the clinking and comes running. He's got a bit too much energy though and so he's settling down in his kennel. He always seems to get the burst of energy just before he needs to settle down and take a nap. He bit a small hole in my sweatpants. Oh well.
I'm washing his bed and the mat so it will be clean for tomorrow's class. His bed needs to be washed at least once a week since he sleeps on it. I have some other laundry to do but I might wait and do it tomorrow morning or after class. Well, he's sleeping now so all is well.
